Mauritius, an Indian Ocean island nation, is known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior includes Black River Gorges National Park, with rain forests, waterfalls, hiking trails and wildlife like the flying fox. The average Delhi to Mauritius flight time is 7 hours and 30 minutes. Air Mauritius has direct flights from Delhi to Mauritius every Thursday and Sunday and it has direct flights from Mauritius to Delhi every Wednesday and Saturday. The weather in Mauritius is warm and pleasant throughout the year and water temperature in the Indian Ocean is also ideal for swimming. As a year-round destination, the answer very much depends on you, and on your exact holiday preferences. You could spend a long time debating when is the best time of year to visit Mauritius but the answer is -any time of the year is right for a trip. The Mauritian summer months, from October to April, are ideal for a Mauritius beach holiday. When you visit during this season, the days are long, hot and humid, making swims in the ocean more refreshing and the breeze more welcome. Summer is usually the peak tourist season in Mauritius, so you can expect crowds, especially on the beach. Towards the end of December through till March is the cyclone season, however it is worth noting that over the past few years, no major cyclones have hit Mauritius. During its winter months, July to September, the temperature is much cooler and, on most days, you will not even have to use the air conditioner. It rains less in winter and when it does rain it’s mainly in the evening or just a passing shower during the day.
